JL Mann’s Smith Darby Named Boys Soccer SC Gatorade POY

Smith Darby, junior forward for JL Mann Boys Soccer, has won the 2025 South Carolina Gatorade Player of the year. 

Darby helped lead the Patriots to a perfect 25-0 season winning the 2025 SCHSL Boys Soccer 5A-D1 State Championship. This is the first championship for the program in 10 year. 

Darby finished his junior season with 21 games played, 32 goals scored, averaging 1.5 goals per game and 12 assists. He was also the Region 1-5A Player of the Year in 2025. 

In the classroom Darby maintained a 3.73 GPA.
